The 2019 APW Joint Event, hosted by the Milwaukee & Waukesha Branches was held this past Thursday, April 25th. It was a rousing a success!
The evening event, held at the Doubletree Hotel in Brookfield, was host to 26 attendees, 4 vendors, and 2 speakers. The hotel provided a delicious dinner for us that included Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, seasonal vegetables, pasta salad, garlic breads, and beverages.
Representatives from Complete Office Products of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Office Products, Inc, Visit Brookfield, Wisconsin, and Olive Promotions were available to talk about their products & services, as well as answer questions.
The evening also provided attendees with 1.5 recertifications points with presentations from Karen Grishaber & Brian Kerhin: Karen presented “Maximize Your Personal Impact by Formally Defining You Brand” An engaging presentation on how to identify & express your unique gifts to enhance your personal visibility & impact in the workplace. At the end of the the presentation, Karen challenged all attendees to think about & start writing our Brand Statement.
Brian Kerhin presented “Demystifying Cloud Computing and Technology Buzz Words” Another well presented, interesting, & engaging presentation on what the “cloud” is & how is actually works. The focus was on the Microsoft Office 365 productivity suite, Azure Active Directory, OneDrive, Sharepoint, and the future Microsoft Teams software. Other technology discussions such as how the internet fits in were also covered.
